Seizure Response Service Dog
Service dogs have the remarkable ability to give their person a sense of purpose, greater independence,
and newfound confidence navigating the world. We service people experiencing epileptic and non-epileptic seizures. We have seen how seizure response service dogs help not only their handler, but the individual’s family and friends too.
Tasks
Each individual is unique, and we account for that during the training process. Your service dog will be matched and individually trained to your lifestyle, needs, and desires.
All of our service dogs learn at least 1 task to help their person manage their disability.
Lie down against a person during a seizure
A dog can be trained to lie against you during a seizure episode in a variety of positions, depending on the individual’s preferences. This can help make your experience of coming out of the seizure more positive.
Get help
When a seizure occurs, sometimes the most important thing is to make another person aware of what is going on. The dog can be trained to go find a family member or another person within the household and return to their person. This task can give a sense of security to not only the individual, but their loved ones too.
