What sets us apart
Rolling Meadows Academy has developed our program over the past 30 years, matching, training, and delivering over 500 dogs. We began our business out of a deep desire to help people thoroughly enjoy their lives with their dogs.
At Rolling Meadows, rescue dogs are the backbone of our program. We are driven by a deep passion for aiding in the homeless dog crisis, and they are what makes our program possible. We provide an invaluable service by giving people an alternative to buying a puppy or adopting from a shelter. Bringing in an adult dog with a developed personality allows us to have a unique matching process, ensuring a more predictable and rewarding experience for our clients looking for an elite family companion, therapy dog, or service dog.
Where our dogs come from
Rolling Meadows rescued most of our program dogs through various shelters for many years. We loved the impact we could have doing so, but a lack of clear health and behavior histories was not ideal.
Today, most of our program dogs are rescued through online listings of people rehoming their dogs for various reasons, most commonly due to divorce, financial trouble, moving away, or a poor lifestyle match. We have learned that this method gives us valuable information about the dog's past experiences, behaviors, and health records. Our method not only allows us to find specific breeds and temperaments for our clients but also ensures a personalized experience.
Fully vetted & well groomed
Our trusted professional vets immediately evaluate each dog that enters our program. They undergo a complete physical examination, receive vaccinations, a heartworm and parasite check, and a microchip. We take pride in our dogs' health and longevity. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered. Additionally, we carefully socialize each dog to grooming and veterinary offices to make them calm and comfortable in these environments.

Offered Programs
Elite Family Companion
An elite family companion is perfect for anyone wanting a well behaved dog at home and in public to take their dog to parks, sporting events, outdoor restaurants, local pet stores, and more! You will enjoy the freedom of off-leash recall on the beach or a long hike. You will never have to worry about damage to your home, an aggressive dog towards your children or other family pets, or a disruptive dog at home or in public. Matching a dog to you and customizing the dog’s training to your lifestyle allows for a life filled with the best parts of having a dog.
Therapy Dog
Therapy dogs are the ultimate companions for people wanting to be involved in their local community or to take their dog into their workplace. Therapy dogs accompany their owners to provide affection, comfort, and support to people in places such as hospitals, schools, libraries, nursing homes, and more. Therapy dogs are one of Barbara’s favorite types of dogs to train because of the joy these dogs bring to people! They are trained to be well-behaved in all situations and prepared to be registered with a therapy dog organization.
Service Dog
Service dogs are specially trained to perform specific tasks to help people with disabilities. These dogs have the remarkable ability to give their person a sense of purpose, greater independence, and newfound confidence navigating the world. We specialize in training dogs for psychiatric, mobility, autism, and seizure disabilities. Each dog is trained to a high level of obedience and socialization over a period of at least 6 months. Our service dogs are the best combination of a well-mannered companion at home and a working dog eager to help their person live a better life. Each service dog is task-trained to your specific needs.
